A Festival of Learning
A Festival of Learning
What’s more fun than the children’s area at a festival? A festival all about kids!
Remake Learning Days Across America is just that – a celebration of learning with an array of events for youngsters from pre-K through high school. Some will be in-person, some online, but all are designed to be engaging, exciting and educational. Most activities are free and available to youth of all ages, whether with their families, educators or childcare staff.
RIF Pittsburgh is partnering with The Greater Pittsburgh Festival of Books and Google Pittsburgh during Remake Learning Days on a project called Readarella to put new books into the hands of over 1,000 area preschoolers, ages 2-5.
The collection includes children’s classics, monster stories - just for the fun of it! – and a quality selection of diverse books by Black and multicultural authors and illustrators that empower children, help develop positive racial identity, and resonate with families of all backgrounds, enabling them to celebrate and find inspiration in the lives, voices and rich experiences of Black culture and communities.
Books are being delivered to select early childhood education centers throughout the Pittsburgh area, and little readers will get to pick a book to keep – forever!
Now that’s a story with a happy ending.
